I am a huge fan of kcradio.com. I personally don't have a radio in my room, well besides my nature sounds alarm clock which doesn't have a radio option. So I rely on my computer for music while I'm working on Gossip Girl B articles or working on my novel. I listen to Kelly during the day because he is absolutely fabulous and then leave the tunes on throughout the evening while I work. The music on kcradio.com is a fantastic mixture of everything, you will never stop listening disappointed.

I wanted to get to know a little more about the guy behind the voice that I have listened to for years and now the owner of kcradio.com. I hope you enjoy getting to know Kelly like I have.

Why Radio? I came from a background of radio people so this seemed like a logical choice.

If you weren’t into radio what would you want to do? Probably something in marketing. Radio really is marketing when you break it down.

Did you go to college, if so where did you attend, and what was your major? I was originally studying to be an English teacher at my hometown College in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Was offered a job in Kansas City, attended JOCO and realized I was making a good living doing this, so I just stayed!

What inspired you to branch out from corporate radio now with the economy being a little iffy? It was time for a change and this technology is really up-and-coming. We are very cutting edge on this station but the response has been incredible.

Did you wake up one morning and think, “Hm, I think I’m going to start my own radio station today”, how was Kcradio.com born? Started gradually. I was originally offered an opportunity to voice a channel for Sirius-XM. Once the studio was built (in his own home) I thought I would give this a try.

How does your family feel about your career change? Very supportive. They get to see me a lot more. Working afternoons, I barely saw them 20 minutes a day.

Working from home can be difficult, how do you separate work and home life? I sneak out and do things. I'm developing a social network and I go to the gym frequently.

What was Kcradio.com’s launch date? January 5, 2009.

What time is your show on and what days? 9 am - 3pm Monday-Friday.

Who has been your favorite person to interview thus far in your career? I've interviewed hundreds of people but Barry Bonds, John Mayer and Courtney Love were some of my favorites.

If you could interview anyone, living or dead, who would it be and why? Lance Armstrong. I met him in the West Bottoms in September but I have never had him on my show. I'm hard-core into cycling and my parents are both cancer survivors. I have a lot of respect for what he has accomplished.

If you were lucky enough to find a bottle containing a very giving genie, what would your three wishes be?

1. A cure for what ills us.

2. People would take the time to understand each other.

3. Better sports franchises in Kansas City!

What makes Kcradio.com different from other musical avenues? We have found a way to personalize the web. For listeners and for advertisers.

Have you ever had a fan do something really strange, if so what? When I moved back from Phoenix, a lady flew here twice to fix our relationship. I don't believe I had met her.

What is your dirty little secret CD, the one you listen to in the car when no one is around? Avril Lavigne.

If you could travel with one musician living or dead to cover them on tour, who would it be and why? Probably David Cook just for the Kansas City angle. I've gotten to know his family and they are super people.

(Gossip Girl B Side Note: If you ever get the chance to cover David Cook on tour, let me know, I will gladly tag along in your suitcase. You won't even know I'm there, poke some holes in the bag so I can breathe, slip me a snickers bar every now and then, and I will be a happy little gossiper. David if you read this, Huge fan here buddy, huge!)

What type of music can people expect to hear? A variety of music you don't get on regular radio because we have so few commercials.

Before the launch of Kcradio.com what was your biggest fear about launching? Will anyone listen? Now we have listeners from Parkville to Pakistan. I get emails daily from Brazil, Israel, Canada, Sweden. New York, New Jersey, California, Washington. Name a state or a country! I knew we would have local listeners but I had no idea we could create such an international "community" on the web in such a short time. People are looking for this and I'm glad they found it on a Kansas City based web station!

What would you like to see Kcradio.com evolve into? Just a new way for people to listen to music and entertainment without a lot of clutter. Hopefully, other personalities will figure out how to do this.

When can people hear music music on Kcradio.com? 24 hours a day.

One Of My Favorite Local Celebs

I am so excited to be able to introduce you gossipers to Kelly Urich a local DJ who ventured out on his own and has stumbled into something pretty darn amazing! I’ve listened to Kelly for years and I was pretty upset to hear about him leaving the station. I actually through a mild two year old temper tantrum, saying I wasn’t going to listen to that station again. I paused, centered myself, and got over it. Then randomly in my work e-mail I receive a forward about Kelly having is own online radio station. I was intrigued, did he go from corporate America to being his own boss during a time when people are losing faith in the ability to do so? Was this a Cinderella story, a story of dreams, or proof that passion for something really does pay off? I had to find out more. I began hunting for a contact, then after a little digging, I found an insider. This insider put me in touch with Kelly and I will be conducting an interview with him in the coming week. I can’t wait to introduce you to one of my favorite DJ’s who thanks to a lovely thing called the internet, you can listen to with me. Even from a young age I loved music, celebs, anything girlie, and boys! Yes ma'am I was boy crazy from birth I think. I loved getting the girls together and dancing around with our hairbrushes to our favorite boy bands. Yes, I listened to to boy bands, I know what a shock right? A good gal pal of mine sent me this YouTube clip of yours truly at age 13 in my own little music video. I'm not alone my friends Ashley and Ashley were in it with me. So I figured I would share this humiliating yet memorable moment in Gossip Girl B's life. Enjoy, oh and I'm the one in the white shirt with the white scrunchie, yes cute right?? Tribute To Jett Travolta

As many of you already know John Travolta’s son Jett passed away on January 2. This memory video was sent to me on Myspace, I thought it was so beautiful I wanted to share it with you. Losing a child, I can’t even imagine. My thoughts and prayers are with the family as they greave the loss of 16 year old Jett. Gossip Girl B , "What projects are you currently working on?"

Brian Sizensky, "My managers and I are in the process of recording my debut album. We just finished the 5 song EP which will be available within the next month or so. Aside from music, I'm also a freelance film/video editorworking with a variety of companies in New York".

Gossip Girl B, "How would you describe your music to someone who has never hear it"?

Brian Sizensky, "Well... the most common comparisons are John Mayer, Jack Johnson,James Blunt, Dave Matthews, Tracy Chapman and Gavin Degraw. I guess you could say it's folk / rock with an extra little kick in the butt. Heavy on melody, groove and lyrics. Every song is in some way aboutlove, nostalgia, or angst".

Gossip Girl B, "Who or what inspires your music?"

Brian Sizensky, "If you get a chance, look up Tommy Emmanuel on Youtube. He has beensuch a huge inspiration. He makes the guitar sing. Poetry was a bigthing for me when I was younger. I was really into Edgar Allan Poe. Something about the rhythm of his writing captivated me. That's what Istrive to do with lyrics. My dad's definitely on the list of inspirations. He's also a songwriter. I grew up listening to Creedance and all the other classic bands of his time. He's also a graphicdesigner, painter and illustrator. In so many ways, my father has helped shape me as an artist.

Gossip Girl B, "If you weren't in music what career path would you take?"

Brian Sizensky, "I graduated from the School of Visual Arts in New York City with a BFAin Film Directing. So, if I weren't doing music, I would definitely be seeking a career as a full time director. Although someday I hope tobe doing both".

Brian Sizensky, "I would love to sing with Tracy Chapman. She's got one of the purest voices I've ever heard, and I really appreciate what she stands for.
Plus, she seems like a humble person who would be welcoming of a little old songwriter like myself who loves her music. I would also love to perform with Tommy Emmanuel someday. He's sort of a goof ball
on stage, and so am I, which is why I think we'd get a kick out of each other. Oh, and I must mention Elliot Smith and the amazing music he left behind. It would have been quite an experience to sing with him".

Below is one of my favorite celeb interviews, with Mr. Chris Mann. He was amazing to work with and so much fun. We are looking forward to covering his career, with his CD getting ready to drop in just a couple months. Below is our interview with him, happy reading:

Okay my amazing Gossipers are you ready to take a Mannventure with me? All right, but grab your comfy sexy shoes because this is going to be an exciting ride. Also powder those noses now because we are not pulling over this Mannventure for anyone. With that said may I introduce to you, Chris Mann, yes it is appropriate to clap your hands and jump up and down. I won’t tell anyone.

Chris Mann’s roots are planted firmly in the Midwest, coming from Wichita, KS. His passion for music started at a young age where he hungered for all areas of vocal music. May of 2004, Chris graduated magna cum laude from the Blair School of Music at Vanderbilt University with a degree in Classical Vocal Performance. He was strongly urged by many around him to pursue a career in opera, but the pull to the pop side of the musical spectrum was to strong. Chris moved to New York to follow those dreams taking with him the talent of a voice that dips into many genres of music.

Once in New York Chris started pounding the pavement, building up a local following. He paid the bills by working as a bank teller, which oddly enough is where his worst date horror story originates from. While working as a teller Chris was approached by one of the bank patrons, who asked him out to dinner. Chris accepted and a nice little dinner date was planned, little did he know what he had in store for him that night. It ended up being one of those awful dates where you are tempted to stab yourself in the hand with a fork so you would have an excuse to leave, but being a gentlemen and sane Chris stuck it out. When the bill for dinner came Miss. Crazy Date, flips, insisting that they leave at that moment without paying for the bill. She then does the hundred yard dash out of the restaurant. Chris was stunned and then realized that he did not have enough money for the bill. He left all the cash he had, and left the restaurant embarrassed and frustrated with Miss. Crazy Date. Needless to say ladies this a way to guarantee you don’t get the next day phone call.

Not all the events in New York were so frustrating for Chris, in fact Chris was able to experience many great things in New York. It was in New York that his great group of friends threw a surprise party to celebrate him getting signed to Sony. It was this party that the infamous Blueberry Manncake’s shirt was born. Those closest to Chris call him Mann, so those friends put their heads together and came up with quirky funny sayings to plaster the celebration shirts with.

Once Chris was signed the taxing job of splitting his time between the East Coast and the West Coast began. After about a half a year bouncing from New York to LA, Chris is sticking about the West Coast, at least for awhile. He feels that his artistic niche is in LA, and feels at least at this point, that a more permanent LA zip code may be in his future. Though a little bit of his heart will always be in New York. Hard to forget the amazing energy in NY and his leading lady currently resides in New York. Yes ladies, Mr. Mann is off the market, sad I know.

While starting to plant roots in LA Chris has been logging many hours in the studio laying tracks for his upcoming CD. He has a great group of producers currently working with him that he just raves about. His executive producer Walter Afanasieff has a pretty impressive list of artist. He’s worked with Mariah Carey, Babyface, and Destiny’s Child just to name a couple Another producer Mike Elizondo, has worked with Maroon 5, Alanis Moressette, and even American Idol runner up Blake Lewis. All and all Chris is surrounded by a vastly talented and experienced team. So there is no doubt in my mind that his CD will be amazing.

So when can we expect to see this CD on our store shelves, well we will have a little wait. The CD should be wrapped up by the end of this year, but will be held until probably March of 2009. Why? There is a fine science to release dates of new artists. New artist don’t really release CD’s during the 4^th quarter due to all the chaos that happens during that time. There is the hustle and bustle of Christmas and the Grammies are also during that time. So does that mean we have to wait 6 months to get our Chris Mann fix? Lucky for his fans the answer is no.

Chris will be joining Idina Menzel on tour Oct 30- Nov 13 that is sticking mostly to the East Coast. There are also whisperings about him being considered for some major campaigns, as well as some of his songs being considered for major placement. Vague, yes, but don’t we all love a mystery man? So with so much on his plate it would be easy for Chris to get overwhelmed. So how does he relax, well by jamming along to “I Kissed A Girl” on his iPod of course. He admits that “I Kissed A Girl”, is a song that he rocks out to when no one is around, aw cute! He also says he’s always had a calm understanding that recording and sharing his music would happen, which must make dealing with the stress a little easier. Now that his dreams are starting to take form he is loving each moment and excited for what tomorrow will bring.

Layoffs Hitting Jack Sparrow

With the economy being a little sensitive right now, I guess pirates aren’t even exempt to layoffs. The Disney park in Anaheim let go the four men who played Jack Sparrow at the park. Apparently women have been flashing the actors, unable to resist the draw of a sexy pirate. Though these four pirates received pink slips, the park has hired on more fairies. I guess you can never have to many adorable little fairies in cute little sparkly outfits. So don’t feel so bad, even hot pirates are at risk of ending up in line at the unemployment office.
